Symposium Confocal Raman Imaging

A symposium on confocal Raman imaging” will be held in Ulm, Germany from October 05 – 06, 2010. It will cover various aspects of modern Raman microscopy and will provide an introduction to Raman spectroscopy in general as well as operational principles and instrumentation relevant to the techniques.

An important part of the symposium will be a contributed poster session giving the participants the opportunity to present and discuss their scientific results on confocal Raman imaging. Participants are encouraged to submit an abstract for the poster session by September 3rd 2010.

This symposium is an excellent occasion for scientists and engineers to further their knowledge of this highly valuable technique in order to meet emerging requirements in the chemical identification and imaging of various compounds. Typical fields of research appropriate for confocal Raman imaging are pharmaceutics and cosmetics, materials and polymer science, geosciences, or coatings and thin film analysis.
